Farewell to the Director of the Wrocław University Libary
On 12.12.2023 there was a ceremonial farewell to the long-time Director of the Wroclaw University Library, senior certified curator, mgr inż. Grażyna Piotrowicz. Employees and Co-workers expressed their sincere thanks to the Director for many years of active, professional and passionate work for the development of the Wroclaw University Library. Buwrcrossing
17.05.2023 - on the initiative of WUL's employees - Ritta Czaplicka (Reprographic and Digitization Unit) and Anna Górska (Circulation Department) - the buwrcrossing project was launched. The campaign aims to promote reading and helps to properly use books not included in the Library's collection. Buwrcrossing is addressed to everyone who comes to the Library: employees, users and those who learned about the campaign from social media. You can take books from the shelves, as well as bring and leave your own books, which will go further into the world.[Historical highlights]

The ceremony of handing over the medieval parchment codex "Breviarium Wratislaviense" from 1415 by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage - prof. Magorzatę Omilanowska - to the Director of the University Library - Grażyna Piotrowicz, that took place on the 4.09.2015. That medieval manuscript originates from the collections of former City Library in Wroclaw (call number M1139) and was lost during the Second World War. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage actively supported the Wroclaw University and the Wroclaw University Library in efforts to reclaim the lost item. |

On the 15th April 2015 in the new building of the Wroclaw University Library the press conference on the 16th great exhibition of contemporary art MEDIA ART Biennale WRO 2015 took place. This exhibition is planned in that location from May 13 to June 30 this year. |
